After owning an AeroCreeper for several years I decided to order their attachable metal tool tray pan. When the tray arrived I was disappointed. The pan was very sturdy, but the 0.063” aluminum mounting bracket was poorly finished. It appeared to just be a piece of 0.063” aluminum sheared and bent to form the bracket and then it was pop riveted to the metal tool tray. The bracket sheared edges were so sharp if I had drug my fingers across them I would have been cut pretty severely. As an experimental aircraft builder…I decided to fix it. I drilled the rivets out, resized and deburred the holes, dimpled the pan holes and countersunk the bracket holes and then riveted some flush rivets to make it solid. Prior to riveting I use a 3M grinding wheel to smooth all of the sharp sheared edges on the bracket to make it more user friendly. This took all of about 30 minutes to correct. I just feel that AeroCreeper should have included this small refinement to this accessory especially when I really enjoy the high quality of their very well made AeroCreeper.
great product.
I had seen this Tool Tray when I purchased my AeroCreeper but didn't think I needed it. After my first use it was obvious that it would be a handy addition. No more screwdrivers and screws scattered all over the floor. Everything right at your side. Great quality, very well made and fits well.
Helps keep things nearby.
I have not actually started using it for working on my airplanes, but believe the adjustments which I have played with, will do the job I bought it for. It’s notably, heavier than I was expecting, which I quite to being very well built and strong. I’m happy with the quality had expected to last a long time. As others said, you get quality when you pay for it.
